meta-fusion & CIRSE – A Success Story in Webcast Production and 365 Video Platform

The collaboration between meta-fusion and CIRSE began in 2015 with the production of the webcast at the CIRSE Annual Congress in Lisbon. At that time, four lecture halls were streamed live over four days and made available on-demand – the first step towards a comprehensive digital congress experience.

Over the years, the partnership has continuously evolved. A major milestone was the introduction of the current 365 Video Platform in 2018, enabling sustainable and high-quality archiving of content. With the CIRSE Library, all presentations since 2016 have been available on-demand, making a significant contribution to knowledge transfer in interventional radiology.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the collaboration reached a new level. In 2020, a webinar series on COVID-19 was realized in a very short time – the first "Virtual Meeting" project that integrated a Zoom meeting into a professional webcast environment. That same year, the entire CIRSE Congress was offered fully online for the first time, including a digital exhibition and daily live broadcasts from a dedicated studio in Vienna. Due to ongoing global travel restrictions, the congress was again held virtually in 2021 before adopting a hybrid format in 2022, allowing both in-person and online participation.

meta-fusion not only supports the CIRSE Annual Congress but also provides webcast productions for other CIRSE events:

ECIO (European Conference on Interventional Oncology) – Since 2017, meta-fusion has supported this conference dedicated to interventional oncology, focusing on minimally invasive cancer treatment techniques.
IROS (Interventional Radiology Online Series) – Since 2018, this event series has been made digitally accessible, highlighting innovative techniques in interventional radiology.
ET (Embolotherapy) – Since 2019, meta-fusion has also been part of this specialized congress, which focuses on embolization techniques.

From the very beginning, the collaboration has been characterized by a commitment to the highest quality standards – in live production, technical implementation, and the long-term archiving of content on the 365 Video Platform.

After ten years of joint development, the partnership between CIRSE and meta-fusion stands as an outstanding example of the successful digital transformation of medical congresses.
