Starting in 2019, we have supported ESAIC in the digital evolution of their event and education offerings – from camera to platform.

Initial Situation & Objectives
The European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC) stands for professional exchange and continuous education for specialists in anaesthesiology and intensive care medicine. With flagship events such as the annual Euroanaesthesia congress and numerous additional educational formats, ESAIC was looking for a reliable partner to digitally expand these events, ensure sustainable availability of the content, and establish a centralized platform for knowledge transfer.
The goal was to professionally digitise the entire congress content, provide live streaming and on-demand access to sessions, and deliver continuous learning opportunities for the community throughout the year and this all within a modern and flexible video platform.
Implementation & Development of the Collaboration
The collaboration with ESAIC began in 2019 with a small webcast production in just two rooms at the Euroanaesthesia annual congress. Over time, the technical implementation and scope evolved dynamically, in terms of both production techniques and platform strategy.
Euroanaesthesia: From Monitored One-Camera Set-Up to Operated Two-Camera Production
- 2019: Launch with monitored 1-camera webcast production – compact, reliable, and ideal for the initial setup.
- 2022: Transition to manned 1-camera production to meet the increasing demand for flexible camera work and closer speaker engagement.
- 2023 & 2024: Return to monitored 1-camera setup, optimised through an efficient production setup and extended postproduction capabilities.
- Since 2025: Operated 2-remote-camera production – a significant leap in video quality while maintaining efficient staffing levels.
In parallel, a comprehensive conference website was developed and integrated directly into the central 365 video platform, featuring live and on-demand webcasts and the integration of e-posters.
Expansion to Additional Formats
Beyond the main congress, we support ESAIC in a variety of other event formats:
1. Focus Meetings
- 2019: Initial implementation of classical live and on-demand webcast production of a smaller meeting, including a dedicated microsite.
- Since 2023: Fully organised as a virtual meeting, including video conferencing, speaker support, and seamless integration into the central 365 video platform.
2. Small-Scale Meetings & Educational Programmes
Basic Sciences Anaesthetic Course
- 2019: On-demand video production with integration into a structured educational library.
3. International Forum on Perioperative Safety & Quality (ISQ)
- 2019: On-demand webcast production as a pre-conference meeting.
- 2021: Delivered as a fully online event, including comprehensive on-demand availability.
4. Intensive Care Online Masterclass
- 2021: Special format due to the COVID-19 pandemic, technically implemented and digitally archived by our team.
5. Educational Online Content
- 2022: Continuous integration of externally produced educational content, such as pandemic-related online formats.
Evolving Toward a Year-Round Video Platform
A major milestone in our collaboration was the integration of the virtual congress website 2024 into the existing 365 Video Platform, already in use for education and marketing purposes. This unified previously separate congress and learning environments into one coherent ecosystem, offering flexible access rights, curated presentation packages, and a consistent user interface and experience.
In addition, we jointly launched the “Essentials” concept in 2025:
Curated by ESAIC, these topic packages each bundle around 30 thematically aligned presentations. Actively marketed through ESAIC channels, they provide a focused and high-value learning experience for users.
